The harmless little Breeze

"What harm can a little breeze do to me? ", thought the man. He had owned this breeze for long now. She loved to blow across the country, over the hills, across the ocean and around the fields. She was a chirpy but a gentle breeze. She enjoyed the singing of birds that greeted her as she made her way through the medieval countryside. She loved it when people heaved a sigh of relief as she went past them, giving them a piece of her. But then she was a lone breeze. Different, yet one of her kind. She believed in the doing the right things, even if it meant a scolding from the God of Winds. But since He knew she was right in a way, he always let her have it her way, which was the only reason for jealousy to prevail in the other breezes. But hardly did she care. She did what she was born for. Spreading Happiness and Laughter. One day, she committed a mistake, a grave mistake. She broke the rules. The little breeze made friends with a man. This little reason was enough for her fel...

Aftermath of Mumbai Attacks

It's been a week since the mumbai attacks and life seems to have regained the normal essence for many of the mumbaities. But really, has nothing changed at all? well, there have been tremendous changes which may affect our lives for years to come and maybe even for generations if we fail to make proper decisions. Things started with Shivraj Patil giving up on home ministry. Did he assume taking up responsibility of the entire nation is a child's play? What did he think before indulging himself into this act? Anyway, if not he, then its Chidambaram now. I bet the game will continue. Another attack and thousand lives lost. Lakhs injured and another resignation. haa! Next, there was Vilasrao Deskhmukh visiting Taj Mahal Hotel with son Riteish and Ram Gopal Verma. This was ridiculous. Guess RGV he has already signed a contract with Deshmukh for launching a movie, with Riteish as the main lead or may be he will potray Azim Aamir. Then it will be called Ram Gopal Verma's Taj.. ...

Matri-morons

I opened my Inbox today only see 120 mails staring at me. Most of them were the same old 'time pass' emails, some make you laugh and some make you wonder 'why did I open it?' Inbetween all those mails, I read a title 'Best of matrimonial...U'LL DIE OF LAUGHTER!!!'. This mail was new to me, so, I opened it. I had a hilarious time reading it. Infact this is first time after so many days (probably months) I'd tears in my eyes, laughing all the way, reading an email and don't even regret it! :D I thought it deserved a place on my blog. Read on.. These are Boys ads taken from shaadi.com These are actual ads on a matrimony site. Grammar and spell errors have no place in a profile description as everything is straight from the heart! Disclaimer : I am not responsible if you forget your basic grammar after reading this mail... Hello To Viewers My Name is Shekhar , I am single i don't have female, If anyone want to Marie to me u can visit to my home. I a...

Start Earning

Image
Today, I came across a site, quite different than the rest. One thing I can assure you is, your visit to the site can help you and also lakhs of people across the globe. No, it's not the regular 'donate' thingy. It's different. Imagine a site where all you need to do is play (yes, play) and simultaneously you are helping and earning. There are lakhs of people affected by natural calamities say storm, tsunami, earthquake, floods and plague. Only a few of us can donate a huge amount of money. The rest of us, even though desperate to help, are helpless. So, here's a site for toddlers, teenagers, grownups....everyone! Free Rice - yes, that's the name. It is one of the most ingenious sites of 2007. It went online on October 7, 2007. All you have to do is to Play and earn Rice. They have got various categories- Art, Chemistry, English, Geography, Languages and Mathematics. You have to play and for each answer you get right, you donate 20 grains of rice. This is condu...

It's not JUST Children's Day

Image
First and foremost, HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY! This is the 54th time we're celebrating children's day. Okay, now before you start calculating, let me tell you, this day was first celebrated in the year 1954. But it wasn't celebrated in November as we do now. October was the month for children then. Later in 1959, 20 November came to pronounced as the 'Universal Children's Day'. The idea of this day was assembled by late Shri V.K Krishna Menon. 20 November marks the anniversary of the day in 1959, when the Declaration of the Rights of the Child was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. In India, Children's Day is celebrated on 14 November every year. The day was preponed to 14 November as this date marks the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The reason why his birth date is chosen is (as we all know) because of his love and passion towards children. Fun and frolic will always be there on this day but only f...

I Lose

It's the 13th. At 6:00 in the evening I visit him. Tired and in pain, he lays on the bed. Even a little movement causes him a striking pain. This time the target being his inner thighs. He says, ‘ It feels like someone’s hitting me with a hammer ’. I touch him- his feet. I press them gently so that he feels no pain. He shy's off and says, " It's ok, let it be ", but I'm recluent. A thought strikes my mind at that very moment, " Maybe this would be the last time " My thoughts win the Race. Period.

Remake Yourself

We all wish for success. We strive hard everyday, every moment with a deliberate attempt to succeed. Finally, when we achieve it, we want more. ah.. our 'never-satisfied' mind and its tricks! But if observed closely, success always comes only to the right person. Success, is like an art, you need to master it to achieve it. It's like a habit. Absorb the tactics within you and then there is no stop to it. There is a law in the universe which states: If you think in negative terms, you'll get negative results. If you think in positive terms, you'll get positive results. In other words; BELIEVE AND SUCCEED. When you believe and work towards your target, all the forces in the universe combine together and make your achievement of goals more easier. William James said, "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind." and Marcus Aurelius said, "A man's life is what his thoughts mak...

The Dream

Standing in an empty room Its dark and creepy A bright light approaching Shines right into my face It blinds me And then its all silent A bang on the door I shudder The room turns cold I shiver A dark figure enters A shot is fired Laying there to die I smile My slow death Crawls into me My dream is over My eyes wide open I stare at the ceiling above The dream ponders my mind The light remains in my head.... forever

Kiddie Sayings!

Sometimes kids in their innocence say things that are hilarious. Here's an assortment of selected 'quotations' from kids. Conversation overheard at a zoo in Tasmania, where a young kid was looking at a wombat: Kid: "Look Dad, dog!" Dad: "No, not a dog. Remember, we talked about what this is? Kid: (thinks) "Dog!" Dad: "Noooo. It starts with a 'w'." Kid: "W......w......w......wdog!" In a preschool class, two little girls who played every day that they were characters from classic Disney cartoons. One day the teacher heard one calling the other "Allison." Since there wasn't a single Disney character named Allison, the teacher asked the little girl who she was today. She replied, "Allison Wonderland." In a party a few weeks ago, a really good friend of a family had brought some cousins, about 7 and 5 years old. The older one looked up at a guest and said: Older Kid: "I bet you're 40." Yo...

Gone

I held a crystal in my hand, So perfect and sparklingly clear... With a sweep of a hand Broken, shattered into pieces... I held a diamond in my hand, A perfect cut, So beautiful... In an instant, snatched away... I held a rose in my hand, With petals so delicate and fragrance so sweet... Days passed, its petals turned brown One by one, they fell to the ground... Life is consistently inconsistent, Nothing definite... With a snap of a finger, everything stops In a blink of an eye, everything's gone Credits: Mdk

I Promise you baby...

Today you left me. How i had wanted you to stay with me for the next 100 + years. How cruel can god be at times. I didnt come to see you... you know why? Because I cant see you being taken away from me. You were my baby, my little red cheeked baby, who's smile lightened my whole atmosphere. I don't want to believe people who say you are no more. I'll sense you everyday, every moment. I run my fingers through the sand-art you gave me. I feel so nice, so calm as if you saying, "Come sis, I'll show you how to do it" I dunt want to believe you are no more. Those who say this are liars...They can't see the smile on your face. They envy you. Remember baby... You'll always be with me, come what may, you will always be the one I will call for when I'm troubled or tensed. You left me to enter a new world. why? I would have loved you more than anyone else. Why did you do this to your parents? I know you did nothing... you were a very good boy, a boy who neve...

Mouth Shut !

My grandfather once told me that there were two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was much less competition. Indira Gandhi Now isn't that true? I had been in the first group for long until I realized that its time to be in both groups. I still deal with people who religiously follow the second category. They do no work, just boast and take all the credit... and oh my god, they boast with so much confidence! There was a time, when I thought they were just helping me, only to find out later that they were helping themselves by doing nothing but boasting! That makes me wonder..don't they feel guilty about it?.. don't they feel they should have given a helping hand... aahh what helping hand.. they are a part of the team and they should have put in equal efforts. They have time for parties, movies and even falling ill but they rarely have time for work. These kind of species are interesting a...

Me is Contradictory cuz Me is Tagged! ;)

Ok this is first time I'm Tagged. And Avi tagged me on such a post that I'd to think not once or twice but .... oh forget it, I've lost the count. So, I've got to put down something that is 'anti-to-each-other' in me. Initially, it was hard for me to accept that I'm very contradictory. Though I've always had this contradictory feeling about Life, I was never ready to accept it. what feeling about life you ask? Its the horror of life and the ecstasy of life that go together for me, yet they stand far apart. When questioned 'hows life going on?' I pause for a moment and wonder, what do I say? "How is my Life? Is it good? No, it's bad. But no, life has always been good." A part of my life is great. I love being here. It's fun. Then at the same time, life seems just like another 'going-through-the-hell' journey. While struggling to keep up with others in the race, I literally forgot what it means to be carefree. No I'...

Jocks v/s Nerds

Michael Jordan having "retired," with $40 million in endorsements, makes $178,100 a day, working or not. If he sleeps 7 hours a night, he makes $52,000 every night while visions of sugarplums dance in his head. If he goes to see a movie, it'll cost him $7.00, but he'll make $18,550 while he's there. If he decides to have a 5-minute egg, he'll make $618 while boiling it. He makes $7,415/hr more than minimum wage. He'll make $3,710 while watching each episode of Friends. If he wanted to save up for a new Acura NSX ($90,000) it would take him a whole 12 hours. If someone were to hand him his salary and endorsement money, they would have to do it at the rate of $2.00 every second. He'll probably pay around $200 for a nice round of golf, but will be reimbursed $33,390 for that round. Assuming he puts the federal maximum of 15% of his income into a tax deferred account (401k), his contributions will hit the federal cap of $9500 at 8:30 a.m. on January 1st. I...

Top 10 Reasons to date a geek girl.

This is hilarious.. read on... ;-) 10. She has traumatic memories from her K-12 education, or rather, the social interactions from her years before college. Your irrational fear of public bathrooms is not so irrational to her. 9. She’s smart, maybe even smarter than you. When she sees the string of acronyms after your name in your sig file, she gets excited. Conversely, she’ll taunt you when her string is longer. 8. She won’t look at you like you have two heads when you complain about bandwidth, when you scream at your computer, when you’ve taken apart your Xbox, when you start sewing a costume to wear at GenCon… 7. She understands your nutritional needs. She bakes cookies and orders pizza for D&D nights. When you’re playing WoW, she’ll cut your dinner into bite-sized pieces so you can eat and heal the main tank simultaneously. 6. If she doesn’t share your obsession with Star Wars, she at least understands it. The idea of a room wallpapered with figurines intrigues her and she’ll p...

(I apologize) ^ infinity

It's been nearly 3 years our friendship came to an end, but believe me, I still remember those moments we spent playing pranks on others, sharing our worries and doubts, calling up each other by names and talking on the phone for hours together and ya also the 'chalk-fight' in college. But you see, 'Green-eyed' monsters are always lurking around. Scared with the thought that some people would bring an end to our friendship, I took some drastic steps which led to a lot of misunderstanding between us, to which you reacted in a shocking manner. I wanted to apologize you, but my ego didn't let me. Today, I leave everything behind and ask you to forgive me. I know I did wrong for misleading you that way But who was to know you would react that way I know I was wrong for lying that day But all I was trying to do was cheer you up in such a way So for that I apologize I wish I could take it back But mostly all I want is your forgiveness and trust I hope I didn’t change ...

Bored

Well, I was bored to the core today. Had lots of things to do, but I was really bugged to do them. Idiot box never attracted me so I was away from it. Just as I lay aimless, I thought of doing something really stupid which I found out to be quite interesting! Here goes my list; 1. Tired Not to think about Polar Bears. (result of watching kungfu panda ;)) This is especially hard, because by trying too much, you remember what you were trying to avoid thinking of. If you try too little, you end up thinking about polar bears anyway. Gets irritating at the end, but its fun. 2. Pretended to be a Robot Moved around with mechanical movements, adding 'zzzzzt' sounds with each motion. Pretended to have a motor broken in, say my left hand and my left eye. was fun! lol 3. Got myself as nauseated as possible was best achieved by looking straight up and spinning around. I was so dizzy I couldn't even stand up. This is also entertaining due to the "makes boredom seem a lot better...

It's haunting me.

This feeling is so weird. I was happy until morning when a realization gripped me, that one day, I too will fade away into fine dust. Yes, sudden and weird... I'm scared of death. I can't imagine staying away from the people I love, even for a second, and death will take away everything from me. I keep wondering....how would it feel while breathing my last moment? how would it feel when my soul would leave my body? how? Will it pain? Whats next after that? Will I ever remember Myself? Will I ever be able to meet the loved ones I lost in the past? I try to pacify myself saying, we came into life all alone and we shall leave all alone too. ..shucks.. but it doesn't seem to work at all. I feel as if I'm leaving myself, abandoning myself. I feel as if someone is controlling me and my life.. watching my every single move. My parents.. what would I do without them? My friends... what if something happens to them? I used to believe in not being attached to anybody in this worl...

Beyond the Ordinar-E

Image
WALL-E is such a brilliant movie. sniff sniff... the best movie ever made with the best of concepts. How cute it would have been if robots could actually have a heart! very emotional with the right pinch of humor and a lesson for mankind to learn from. Me lovezz Wall-E and Eve. Andrew Stanton... three cheers to u! You know, there comes a time, when you actually begin to feel the rise and dip of emotions along with Wall-e. You can feel the excitement and his determination to be with Eve, the way he tells the cockroach (his only friend on this planet) to wait on earth till he returns.. everything is sooo amazing! Some of 'the-very-best' scenes in the movie, was the conversation between Eve and Wall-E when they first meet... Eve: name? Wall-E: Wall-E Eve: Wall-E?? (giggles) Eve: Eve Wall-E: Eva? Eve: Eve Wall-E: Eeeeeeva? Eve: Eve Eve!! Wall-E: Eeeva? Eve: giggles (this expression is dammmmn cute) Another where Eve n Wall-E are chased by the Ship security robots. Ship's Compu...

My School

Ask me if I want to go back, my answer would be YES! Nothing lasts forever, nothing. So the best thing I can do, is to keep those memories treasured and move on with life like I've always done. Here are a few lines for my School... Oh those beautiful school days I do miss them in many ways Free periods when we used to roam around Cool games that we used to play in the ground Small fights with friends that lasted for short duration of time Interesting classes when we were taught the nursery rhyme School lunch break when we used to share our food Punishments in class when on the bench we stood "Picnic" in school that we were excited about Free periods in class when we used to shout Now life has become hectic and has increased its pace We have to rush and struggle hard to win the life's race Sometimes I wish would those golden days come back again? When we were always happy and had no pains Oh those beautiful childhood days I do miss them in many ways.. I'm grateful ...

The National Flag of India

Image
THE NATIONAL FLAG OF INDIA is in horizontal tricolor deep saffron at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom in equal proportions. The ratio of the width to the length of the flag is 2:3 in proportion. In the center of the white band, there is a wheel in navy blue to indicate the Dharma Chakra , the wheel of law in the Sarnath Lion Capital. This center symbol or the 'CHAKRA' is a symbol dating back to 2nd century BC. I ts diameter approximates the width of the white band and it has 24 spokes, which intends to show that there is life in movement and death in stagnation. The following is an extract from the preamble to the 'Flag Code of India' as posted on the official Home Ministry website of the Indian government: The significance of the colours and the chakra in the National Flag was amply described by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan in the Constituent Assembly which unanimously adopted the National Flag. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan explained -"Bhagwa or ...

The National Song of India

Bankin Chandra Chaterjee composed the song Vande Mataram. Rabindranath Tagore sang by setting a glorious tune to it and it was left to the genius of Shri Aurobindo to interpret the deeper meaning of the song out of which India received the philosophy of new Nationalism. The English translation of Vande Mataram rendered by Shree Aurobindo , is considered as official and best as per Bhavan's book, Vande Mataram by Moni Bagchee (pg. 66). Vande maataram sujalaam suphalaam malayaja shiitalaam Sasyashyaamalaam maataram Shubhrajyotsnaa pulakitayaaminiim pullakusumita drumadala shobhiniim suhaasiniim sumadhura bhaashhiniim sukhadaam varadaam maataram Koti koti kantha kalakalaninaada karaale koti koti bhujairdhritakharakaravaale abalaa keno maa eto bale bahubaladhaariniim namaami taariniim ripudalavaariniim maataram Tumi vidyaa tumi dharma tumi hridi tumi marma tvam hi praanaah shariire Baahute tumi maa shakti hridaye tumi maa bhakti tomaara i pratimaa gadi mandire mandire Tvam hi durgaa...

The National Anthem of India

Ask this question and I bet you'll get shocking answers. Some say 'vande mataram', some say 'Can't remember', some who gave the right answer had to think over it before poppin' a 'still-in-doubt' answer..'jana gana mana' and some are 'oh-so-clever'..they will inturn question you..'what's it?'. It's a shame to see Indians being so careless about their country, their own country! On the contrary, when it comes to cricket and mallika sherawat, all have the figures on the tip of their tongue. No one says one should know everything about their country... from polictics to games and from entertainment to social service. But I strongly believe if one stays in a particular place, he/she should know 'about' that place. So, this week, while celebrating our 62nd free year, I would like to share whatever I know about India and even gain more knowledge regarding the same. To start with... The National Anthem of India is... ...
